Terms & Conditions
Please take the time to read our T's and C's, if you book a hike with us, then it is assumed that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions.
Fitness and health:
Hiking is all about adventure and an adventure is defined as:
“an activity which is exciting and challenging which involves significant inherent risk, without which the activity would lose much of its value”.
So don’t shy away from adventure, let’s just make sure it is not too adventurous for you. None of the hikes that we offer are easy. They all involve challenging aspects such as distance, difficult terrain, being near heights, moving over obstacles sometimes including water and rivers - often using your hands, carrying everything you need for the duration of the hike. It is your responsibility to make sure that you are suitably fit and healthy to complete the hike, but if you are unsure then it is your responsibility to check with us in advance of the hike.
Weather:
The weather in the mountains is never guaranteed. It is your responsibility to be suitably equipped to spend time in the mountains. We will provide you with a suggested packing list of what to bring, but if you are unsure then it is your responsibility to check with us in advance of the hike.
Bad weather is not necessarily unsafe as long as you are properly equipped. But if we deem the weather to be unsafe, then we will aim to reschedule the hike. If the reserve or landowner (SANParks, Cape Nature etc.) deem the weather to be unsafe then we will aim to reschedule the hike. We will communicate this to you as soon as possible.
Safety:
If we see you acting in a manner that is unsafe for you, anyone in the group or any of the guides, we will ask you to leave (where safe to do so) You will not be given any refund.
If we need to evacuate from the route, due to weather, injury, fire or for any other reason, you will not be given any refund.

Leave No Trace:
We strictly follow the LNT principles at all times when in the mountains, if you are found to be not following these principles we can ask you to leave (where safe to do so) you will not be given any refund.
Inclusions and exclusions:
We will list on your invoice what is included and excluded. If you are unsure, please check with us in advance of the hike.

Indemnity:
We require you to complete a registration form in advance of the hike, this requires you providing medical information so that we are aware of any medical issues you may have in case of an emergency whist hiking. It is assumed that all information provided is correct and nothing relevant has been omitted. This form and its contents form part of our agreement to guide you.
Cancellations:
If we cancel a hike before it commences, due to weather that we deem unsafe we offer a full refund or an alternative date, if possible.
If the reserve or landowner (SANParks, Cape Nature etc.) cancels our booking (due to safety concerns or any other reason) they will either offer us a refund, partial refund or a new date. No refunds will be given, unless or until the reserve has refunded us. If they offer us a new date which doesn’t suit you, we will attempt to find a replacement for your place where possible, and then refund you.
Day hikes :
We do not offer a refund if you cancel a day hike, for any reason, less than 72 hours before the start of the hike.
If you cancel between 3 and 5 days before the date of the hike, for any reason, we will only be able to offer you a 50% refund (less any bank or service fees).
If you cancel 5 days or more before the date of the hike, for any reason, we will only be able to offer you a 25% refund (less any bank or service fees).
Multi-day (overnight) hikes:
We do not offer a refund if you cancel a multi-day hike, for any reason, less than 7 days before the start of the hike.
If you cancel between 7 and 21 days before the date of the hike, for any reason, we will only be able to offer you a 25% refund (less any bank or service fees).
If you cancel 21 days or more before the date of the hike, for any reason, we will only be able to offer you a 50% refund (less any bank or service fees).
