Terms and conditions to help manage expectations. It is important that you read and understand the following :

1. If you book a hike with us, then it is assumed that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions.

2. Mountain weather is notoriously unpredictable. You need to be responsible for your own preparedness to manage all type of weather, regardless of season. On day hikes we will postpone hikes if the weather indicates difficult conditions that the National Park regards as problematic. The weather reports are sometimes wrong and can often change drastically on short notice. On private hikes it is best to book on your first available day, with flexibility for a second day for weather concerns.

3. If the hike is rescheduled due to bad weather we will inform you as soon as the rescheduling becomes evident. We cannot guarantee that there will be availability on the same route, and will do our best to accommodate you.

4. On overnight hikes we can only reschedule if advised by the reserve to do so. If the reserve cancels our booking (due to weather or emergency trail maintenance) they will either offer us a refund, partial refund or a new date. No refunds will be given, unless the reserve has refunded us and your refund will be dependent on what the reserve offers us. We can only offer what the reserve has given us. Proof of refund or new date from the reserve will be given, provided this is given to us in writing by the reserve. A 10 percent administration fee will be deducted for rescheduling. If a new date is given by the reserve, which does not work for you, all efforts will be made to find a replacement for your spot. The replacement will reimburse you. We cannot guarantee a replacement for you to reimburse you.

5. If the weather, an injury, or any other reason during the hike necessitates guide deciding to the evacuate off the route, no refund will be given.

6. When we hike up Table Mountain we mostly hike up and take the cable car down. In the event of strong wind we will have to hike down as the cable car will be closed.

7. We hike at a leisurely pace. If you feel you may be too fast or too slow, it may be best to book a private hike.

8. If you are part of a group hike and your pace slows down the group too much we may turn you back early in the hike where it is safe or where the rangers can reach you. If there is concerns for your health we will have to pull you off the hike more for your safety, than out of consideration for other group members. Refunds cannot be given under these circumstances.

9. We start hikes early to avoid hiking in the hottest time of the day. Heat makes the hike difficult and more challenging. The wind also tends to pick up around noon. On the odd occasion, we may start a bit later if there is rain in the morning.

10. All hikes start at the time scheduled. If you are late, please make sure you communicate this with your guide. If arrive more than 15 minutes late on a day hike or overnight hike the guide may not wait for you. The group will not be held up with waiting for you to get ready for them to start. If you choose to hike alone to catch up then you take responsibility for your own navigation and safety until you have caught up with the guide.

11. Please note our basic cancellation policy:
    Day hikes :
    No refund will be offered if a day hike is cancelled less than 72 hours before the start of the hike, for whatever reason.
    50% of total cost is payable by you if a day hike is cancelled between 3 and 4 days before the hike, for whatever reason.
    25% of total cost is payable by you if a day hike is cancelled 5 days or more before the hike, for whatever reason.
    Overnight hikes:
    No refund will be offered if an overnight hike is cancelled less than 7 days of the start of the hike for whatever reason.
    75% of total cost is payable by you if an overnight hike is cancelled between 7 and 21 days of the start of the hike for whatever reason.
    50% of total cost is payable by you if an overnight hike is cancelled 21 days or more before the hike for whatever reason.
    Overnight hikes are booked and non-refundable deposits paid far in advance.

12. Transport to and from hikes are not included. Car pools are generally available with petrol share in place.

13. Accommodation on route to overnight and multi day hikes are not included.

14. You are responsible for your own preparedness for the activity.
